Before Jesus' crucifixion, he had to go through a farce of a trial and was taken from the religious leaders from Pilate to Herod, then back to Pilate. Going back and forth, the leaders were trying to find a legal loophole to kill him or a reason to let him go. Jesus was exhausted and was given no comfort or respite as he was relentlessly questioned and physically beaten and abused. Given a crown of thorns and finally condemned by Pilate, Jesus suffered more than anyone before or after in these final hours of his life.
